While I didn’t have big plans for Christmas or New Year’s Eve, we got some big news on New Year’s Day…my great friends baby had arrived…four days before he was expected! Everyone knows that babies only follow their own timelines, so without the week-long buffer I expected to have at the start of the year, I rearranged my travel plans, packed my laptop, and hit the road.
Thankfully, I can never sit idle for very long. During that grey zone between Christmas and New Year, I had applied to a handful of gigs and roles that caught my eye. While I had wrapped up my work with Security Innovation (thanks for a great year together folks!) and have my ongoing work with Sightline Security, helping nonprofits to operationalize their own cybersecurity journey, I have a few cycles open for something…more.
If I am building bricks from my background we have:
- Cybersecurity & Nonprofits (Sightline is a double check mark, plus community work)
- DEI/Women in Tech (I am the Social Media Officer for WiCyS Chicago, 2022-Present)
- Local volunteering (I serve as a Precinct Committee person in Macon County, IL and have since 2020).
And yet a few things are missing from the equation:
- Sales background in B2B (ever since Girl Scouts 😉 )
- Cannabis activism / civil service towards legalization (patient’s rights advocate since 2009)
- Career Development (experience from 15 years in the recruiting field)
Then along came Ember Processing!
I will be partnering with the Ember team to expand their reach into Illinois and the Midwest, help with the Events and Content calendar in our region, and empower more canna-businesses to give their customers the best experience possible, while keeping as much of their money in-house as they can.
Ember is a game-changer for the patient experience at the point-of-sale, at cannabis businesses of all types.
Their solution combines customer rewards and loyalty, with marketing support, in “a fully-integrated payments, loyalty, and e-commerce platform you can reliably build your business upon.”
