Allow me to reintroduce myself
The story in my family goes, “if only grandma would have had a daughter, she would have named her Lisa Renee’”. That makes sense, since my grandmother (may she RIP) was naming her kids in the 50’s and 60’s!
Did you know that “one of only a handful of female names that can claim victory as the #1 name in the country, Lisa held those honors for eight consecutive years between 1962 and 1969 (usurping Mary). Practically 50,000 baby girls were named Lisa on an annual basis back in the 1960s – this girl was crazy-popular.” Do you know HOW MANY ladies named “Lisa” there are in America??
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.”
William Shakespeare
I remember each time I met another Lisa, as a kid, being highly offended at the common-ness of my name. It has always rankled me in a way I can’t fully explain.
As I have decided to take my husbands’ last name, I have also decided to simplify my first name. In this ATS driven-time, I don’t think I can successfully switch to a uni-letter moniker without causing a glitch in the matrix, therefore, I would like to use the phonetic of my first initial – and go by Elle.
Hi, my name is Elle Saurs, nice to meet you. 🙂
