Like so many people in corporate America, I have taken many personality and professional skills assessments tests. I am also a highly skeptical person and it’s not lost on me that labels like these don’t always create positive outcomes. This piece in Business Insider did a good job bringing the haterade, if you want to see the counterpoints.
That being said, I am job searching. Many of the companies I am applying to are high EQ orgs (or else I’m not interested) and they are asking me to complete one of these or another for their application processes. I have results scattered throughout many emails and until now, I had no record of any of that data!
I am pulling these together so I can reference them later, share them with people, or compare notes with others.

16 Personalities (Meyers-Briggs)
I love that this site has a page dedicated to Personal Growth, with exercises and tests you can take to become more attuned to your personal EQ skills, and continue to grow.

Advocates (INFJs) may be the rarest personality type of all, but they certainly leave their mark on the world. Idealistic and principled, they aren’t content to coast through life – they want to stand up and make a difference. For Advocate personalities, success doesn’t come from money or status but from seeking fulfillment, helping others, and being a force for good in the world.
PsyML
The 6-dimensional HEXACO personality model is scientifically validated & accurate across cultures, ages & genders.

In the age of increased uncertainty & isolation, understanding your personality allows you to become aware of your unique strengths, opportunities & threats as you navigate reacting to & moving forward with remote work.
I’m the Preserver… what are you?

No surprise there.

High5Test
I liked this test. It was fast, and I feel like the results are fairly revealing, even though I didn’t have to do a deep dive. The High5Test is a decent personality assessment.

Verbiage below abbreviated from the high5test website
Deliverer
Your underlying goal is to take responsibility. Your name and reputation depend on you being responsible for your commitments. That’s why people love to have you on their team. You’re the first person they turn to when assigning new responsibilities, because they’re 100% sure that whatever needs to be accomplished will get done.
Strategist
Your objective is to see the big picture. Have you heard of “taking the helicopter view”? Well, you are constantly on this helicopter! This special way of looking at the world at large is more than just a skill — it’s a perspective that allows you to see how everything is interconnected.
Time Keeper
Your objective is to set timelines and deadlines. You don’t necessarily need full control, but there must be order and predictability in the world around you. In a team or project environment, your need for structure and discipline are extremely valuable in maintaining progress and productivity.
Problem Solver
Your objective is to solve problems. While breakdowns often demotivate others, they can excite and energize you. When something does not work as it should, you jump at the opportunity to analyze the symptoms, identify what’s wrong and find a solution. In a team, everyone knows you as someone who does not shy away from a challenge, but instead actually fixes things back to normal.
Empathizer
Your objective is to be empathetic to others’ emotions. You understand what other people are going through, and this allows you to connect with others on a deeply personal level. You treat people fairly and don’t exclude anyone, which naturally draws others to you. When part of a team, this strength based on kindness is valuable for mitigating conflict.
DISC
Lastly, The DISC Personality Assessment has been requested on a few job applications, so I want to share my results here. It takes upwards of 20 minutes to complete if you give the questions careful consideration.

Which assessments have you taken? Do you think you were helpful or useful? Are there any I should add in here?
Have a great weekend!
Lisa
